Qualified Pre-School Play Assistant (Term Time only)

Term time salary: £12,168 – £13,986

 We are looking for an enthusiastic, team member who is passionate about delivering high standards of care and opportunities for children to learn thorough play. You will be a key person to a group of children observing and planning their learning following their individual interest whilst celebrating the diversity they bring to our setting. A working knowledge of the EYFS is also required. A minimum level 3 qualification in suitable childcare qualification is essential.

Position 1 :         Administrator

South Asian Health & Well-being clubs for 50+

Hours:                       8 hours weekly worked flexibly,          Salary:                       £7.95 per hour

Annual Leave:         4 days,                                                     Contract length:      Fixed term – ending 22nd March 2019

Responsible to:      Finance & Resources Officer, CYCD

About Health & well-being Consortium Project:  Luton South Asian Health & well-being Clubs is a consortium of small, local community organisations, led by Centre for Youth & Community Development, who work with people from the South Asian communities, namely Pakistani, Kashmiri, Indian and Bangladeshi aged 50+.

Members of the Consortium are Khidmat well-being club, Ujala well-being club, Guru Nanak well-being club, Guru Ravidass well-being club, The Hindu Centre, Dilkush Well-being Club and Bangladesh Youth League.  Each organisation runs 1 or 2 clubs each week based in centres in Luton.  Each of the 9 clubs is uniquely different meeting the diverse cultural and language needs of people from the S Asian communities, but each club is for older adults, provides an exercise session, regular health & well-being workshops and talks, lunch, opportunity to socialise and receive information and advice.  All the Clubs are volunteer led and managed.  The groups meet on different days of the week, Monday – Friday, usually over the lunch period.

Purpose of the job:

  • Provide administrative support enabling groups to prepare monitoring data, reports and case studies and meet deadlines.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate between group co-ordinators and health professionals/organisations to arrange workshop leaders and guest speakers.

Position 2 :         Admin Assistant

Bengali Women’s Project: Active Women’s Project

Hours:                       5 hours weekly worked flexibly     Salary:                       £8.75 per hour

Annual Leave:         3.5 days                                             Contract length:      Fixed term – ending February 2019

Responsible to:      Finance & Resources officer

Purpose of the job:

To support local women to more active citizens with strong friendship networks and improved English language and communication skills.

Provide administrative support particularly to mentors enabling the administrative tasks to be completed and support the ESOL Tutor and Project Worker
