Bangladesh Youth League was established in 1979 and registered as a charity with the Charity Commission on 26^th May 2005.  In 2001, Bangladesh Youth League acquired its own premises as the base for its work called Centre for Youth & Community Development (CYCD).

The CYCD has grown and developed over the years and currently it provides:

• Little Stars Pre-school for children aged 1-4 years providing pre-school Monday to Friday each week during term time.
• Children’s work
  • Children’s Holiday Clubs – for Free School Meal children aged 6-11 year olds
  • Bangla School
• Access Disability Project – weekly clubs for children & young people aged 6-11 years, 11 – 18 years and 18 – 25 years; and ALL School Holiday Clubs
• Support for women – providing ESOL, IT, Employability & Employment support for mostly local women, supporting them to improve skills and either gain employment or accredited learning. We also provide a discreet mental health & domestic abuse support service for local women.
• S Asian Older Peoples Health & Well-being Clubs – 7 weekly health & well-being clubs for older people (50+) in partnership with South Asian community organisations (Khidmat, Guru Nanak Well-being, Ujala, Guru Ravidass Well-being, Ekta & Dilkush) providing fitness, lunch, opportunity for older people to meet with others.
• Youth Work – currently 4 weekly youth club sessions for young people aged 10-17 years, support for 20 young volunteers, mentoring for vulnerable and “at risk” young people referred by Youth Offending Service and Crescent Summer School providing 9 weeks of holiday clubs each year.
• Community Advice Service providing welfare benefits advice, Housing and Bangladesh High Commission advice in partnership with Bangladesh High Commission and Luton Rights
